At Small Family CSA Farm, we plant, nurture and harvest your produce before we put it in the box and deliver it to the drop off point nearest you. For twenty weeks, Small Family Farm will grow delicious vegetables for you, from the beginning of June through the end of October filled with the Midwest bounty. By being part of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, you share the risks and blessings with us through the fate of the unpredictable seasons. While long cool season may be wonderful for our broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, it may not be as fruitful of a year for heat-loving sweet corn, tomatoes and peppers. Here's the low-down on what you may get "in the box" with a Share from the Small Family Farm CSA. Keep in mind that no two boxes will ever be the same from week to week or from season to season:

When you sign up to become a member of the CSA, you’ll receive a Summer Share or a 3/4 bushel box of certified organic, local, and seasonal produce! You’ll also receive a weekly newsletter with what’s going on at the farm, recipe ideas, photos of the farm and handling info for your veggies.
A Summer Share can feed 2-3 hungry adults who incorporate vegetables into their diet. It can be very hard to predict how many people a share can feed because some familes are vegetarian, mostly vegetarian or use meat as the main entree at meals. Some families find it hard to find time to cook at home while some prepoare every meal from scratch at home. It is our goal to enchant you with the absolute beauty of farm fresh and glowing seasonal produce, to help you fall in love with the concept of a local food economy and to convince you that you simply have not had food if you have not had farm-fresh seasonal produce so that you will never want to eat out again. that Sharing a box allows friends to take turns picking up or help eating up the contents of the box. This has worked very well for some in the past. |
