To raise a wide variety of vegetables on a small family farm and to serve our surrounding communites while preserving as sustainable of a farm ecosystem as is economically viable and ecologically responsible. We aim to produce a supreme quality, freshness and flavor in our produce thru paying close attention to soil mineral balancing, organic matter and fertility levels while supplying a 100 member CSA program with a weekly bounty of seasonal annual produce.
Thru our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program we hope to build community thru the program by encouraging member involvement in the farm that offers hands-on learning about seasonal and fresh food, fostering an intersted in home-made meals that help bring families together and supporting a locally based food system, reducing the need and interest for community members to source out-of-region food from grocery stores.
As young, first-generation farmers, we hope to preserve some of the knowledge that is going to die along with our veteran farmers and farms. We hope to learn and then practice local wisdom from our neighboring farm community that is endangered by the ever-sprawling cities and sub-divided countryside. We recognize the need for farmers who are truely in love with farming and small family farm life who wish to be responsible stewards of the lands as much as they wish to be responsible stewards to their community.
Community Supported Agriculture is way for farms to serve their communities and a chance for their communities to serve them. It is a beautifully organized and structured delivery system that is designed to compliment both the farmers and the eaters where both parties have a chance to learn and work with eachother.
